Christian is member of the Mercedes-Benz FOSS center of competence (which would usually be known as OSPO). In this context he helped define the overall FOSS strategy and implement it with services like software composition analysis, SBOM management and providing guidance to his colleagues. He is responsible for memberships in Eclipse Foundation and Linux Foundation and represents Mercedes-Benz in The FOSS Länd, which is an activity of the state of Baden-Württemberg to foster FOSS in the automotive industry. He takes his motivation to from the opportunity to bring Mercedes-Benz and the automotive industry closer to the open source community. Christian holds a doctorate degree in computer science from the University of Tübingen, Germany.
