Alexandra Geese is a Member of the European Parliament since 2019 and is the digital expert of the Greens/EFA parliamentary group. She negotiated the “Digital Services Act” which regulates online intermediaries and platforms, such as social media platforms or online marketplaces. Her main focus areas are democracy in the digital age, sustainable digitalisation, and gender equality. She is part of the EU Parliament’s working group on the Digital Services Act. She is member of the Committees on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM), and a substitute member in the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO).
