Ms Ariane Labat is currently Head of Unit for Digital Transformation at the Directorate-General for International Partnerships of the European Commission. Previously, Ms Labat was a Counsellor for climate action, environment and agriculture in the European Union Delegation to South Africa, after 4 years as Head of Cooperation for the EU Delegation to the Kingdom of Eswatini. Before that, Ms Labat was cluster lead mitigation for the EU international negotiation team at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), working towards successful global climate action from Cancun to the Paris Agreement. Ms Labat also had further previous assignments as an economist working to unlock sustainable and inclusive growth opportunities in Europe, Latin America and China.
