Barbara Bonvissuto has been Director for “Ecosystems III: Construction, Machinery and Standardisation” in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs since 1 December 2024. Previously, she had been Head of Unit of the “International Value Chains” Unit, Head of Unit of the Machinery & Equipment Unit and Deputy Head of Unit of the Automotive and Mobility Industries Unit in the same European Commission’s Directorate General. She joined the European Commission in 2001. In her career at the Commission, she has been mainly responsible for internal market, industrial policy, and international issues. She earned a PhD in Community law in 2003.
